1960s goldtone chevron design white enamel with alternating red and blue enamel hoop clip and screw back earrings. Unmarked. Measure: 15/16 inches tall by 7/16 inches wide by 1 inch deep. Excellent condition.
The utility patent for the clip backs was applied for in 1962 and granted in 1965 for a company in Providence, Rhode Island. Therefore, these earrings made around that time or a little later, since most companies used different clip backs in the 1970s. The patent also indicates that these earrings were made in the US, as Providence was home to a number of well-known costume jewelry companies.
