1970s Modernist oval rhodium plated pendant with overlapping goldtone smaller oval and smallest oval blackened metal section on top pendant on a goldtone snake chain necklace with spring ring clasp. Marked "NAPIER©" on the back of the pendant and on a jump ring near the clasp. Pendant measures: 3 1/8 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide. Chain doubled measures: 8 1/2 inches long. Condition: Very good; very minor surface wear to the pendant. A necklace like this except with a round pendant is shown on pg. 441 of Melinda L. Lewis & Henry Swen's book "The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry."
